May the Fourth be With You - Celebrate in Singapore

Star Wars Fans rejoice! May the 4th, all Republic, Imperial, Jedi and Sith will put down their differences and come together to celebrate.

Activities

May the Fourth is on a Sunday this year and events are in motion for an exciting celebration this year. Last year event was at the Philatelic Museum (Stamp) and this year celebrations, the "May The 4th SG" 2014 event is on at the Jurong Regional Library (21 Jurong East Central 1, Singapore). For a full Star Wars fan experience, start off the morning at China Square, to pick up some memorabilia or old Star Wars Toys. Next head over to Jurong Regional Library by 11am to catch the planned activities.

Activities include:

  • Special appearance by 501st Legion Singapore Garrison 
  • Performance and workshop session by FightSaber Singapore 
  • Star Wars toys display by Hasbro Singapore 
  • "Once-Upon-A-Stormtrooper" fan fiction contest 
  • X-Wing Miniatures tabletop game demo, workshops and activities for kids and fanatics. 
  • A Public Screening of "Plastic Galaxy: A History of Star Wars Toys" by Brian Stillman 
  • "Live" doodling session by the artists from "Band of Doodlers" 
  • Showcase and Sale custom stormtrooper helmets by local and overseas artists where all proceeds from sale of the helmets will go towards helping the less privileged. 

The 501st Legion Singapore Garrison and FightSaber are always awesome for fans. FightSaber Singapore is South East Asia’s premier lightsaber performance troupe and will wow fans with their agility and the intricacies of the various flight stances. There will also be an exclusive sale of custom stormtrooper helmets by local and overseas artists where all proceeds from sale of the helmets will go towards helping the less privileged. $300 and you can walk away with a Hello Kitty design stormtrooper helmet.

So enjoy the annual Star Wars Days, go around in your favourite Star Wars costume, and May the Fourth be with you!
