Review of the QX2710 by QNIX

Just a few years ago, 27" monitors were still pretty expensive, let alone one with a resolution of 2560 x 1440. These were considered niche displays and well, really only affordable for the rich and crazy.

I have this display, and its main draw is it's price and top tier specs, 2560 x 1440 resolution, 120 Hz. I'm mostly very happy with mine, as I'd much rather have that, than Display Port inputs and whatnot that I don't use. (though I saw some temporary burn in when I used 120Hz for a long time with static GUI, but I hardly noticed, and don't need 120Hz for programming anyway).

The biggest disadvantage with 120 HZ is that I needed to spend too much on GPU, to get close to it at this resolution.

And yes, you may have some questions on the monitor, so here goes:

Does this Qnix display use Samsung PLS or LG IPS?
Panel is Samsung PLS.

Are the board factory seconds and is there anything wrong with them? Are they refurbished?
No, no and nope. Board is new and there is no problem;
Will they reach 120hz?
OC is never guaranteed. But, many buyer have tried boosting it to 120Hz and have been successful.

Are VESA mount screws included?
The monitor does support VESA. But screw aren't included, fair enough.
What cables are included?
A DVI-D Cable and a power cable.

User reviews on the net have been overwhelmingly positive and a majority are running multiple monitors setup with it. On the overclocking front, there are a number of success cases at 120Hz but bear in mind, this is in no way guaranteed. You would also need a powerful video card for 120Hz as well. Another thing that really impressed me was that EACH AND EVERY monitor went through vigorous testing before it even left the facility. Yes, even the models without the pixel guarantee.

The cheapest model comes only with DVI. For an additional $72, that adds a HDMI port, and for $90, that gets you a HDMI and a Display Port as well.

Do note if you are intending to get the HDMI port, it needs to support HDMI 1.4 spec for the high resolution.

For Singaporean users, you guys are in luck, the monitors are even cheaper than our US friends at S$279. This works out to around US$223 only. It is a STEAL!
